TOHS IBA SHINO Releases New Single – Blaze Yuh Fire
The man from Port Harcourt, Nigeria has just released his highly anticipated single, “Blaze Yuh Fire”. This track is his debut single for 2021, and the lead single from his upcoming studio album.
In this amazing track, Tohs IBA Shino, shares his “Love Experience” experience with his ex-girlfriend. In the lyrics, he accused his ex of manipulating his love. He admitted that he wasn’t holy, but he definitely chopped breakfast and suffered from heartbreak because all she saw him as was a dollar sign.
Produced by The Crichton Clique who is based in Miami, Florida and known for their cutting edge sound in Roots Reggae and Dancehall Music, the single is upbeat, flirtatious and empowering – showing a new side to the ever-inspiring musician, who is still just 22 years old.

Musically, Tohs Iba Shino’s playfully infectious pop spirit intertwines with his youthful charisma, idiosyncratic storytelling, and informed opinions – attributes that have set him apart from his peers and seen him become one of the Nigeria’s most-loved-breakthrough stars of recent years.
Composer Courtney ‘Blemo’ Crichton was eccentric, and extremely ahead of his time when he began composing what he called “Pop Reggae Fusion” in the 1990s. You may not know his name, but you probably know his music. He is credited in the production of many artists careers including his brother White Mice, Junior Delgado, Jhonny Osbourne and Tarrus Riley to name a few. He wrote sparse pieces to be played gently in cafes or at parties, and people would often gather around to listen intently.

Blemo was not alone in his mission to create sonic ambience, and was often rival to his dancehall contemporary, Star Trail Music. His structured, melodic, beautiful pieces have been featured in hundreds of artist’s songs, movies, TV shows, and video games. As a student, professors at Miami International University, Crichton said his music was “bizarre” and “courting the unusual”, but now his signature style is widely embraced.
Unique Sound
Decades later came influential composer, Asani Ali. He used prepared piano in many of his works (placing ping pong balls and other objects inside to alter the tone), and if you are listening to music right now, you may be listening to some of his work without even realizing it. He brought an element to the Crichton Clique that was missing and together, the team has created countless hits for artists such as Lavaska and Tarrus Riley.
