Chris Demontague Drops A New Single – Please Don’t Go

Hailing from Jamaica and Great Britain, his unique sound, originality, gospel roots combined with the amazing ability to write great songs makes Chris Demontague one of the hottest new talents to emerge in recent years. Chris also has a natural vocal ability, range, and control – that has a quality that’s has not been heard of from a Jamaican Artist in a very long time. He is making some impressive noise in musical circles all over the Globe.

Chris has been penned by many as a modern-day version of Sam Cooke, fueled by influences of Ray Charles, Otis Redding, and R. Kelly. The music being produced is a powerful, memorable and interesting fusion of Pop, Reggae, and Soul. Quoting Cirocco, music producer and author of the best selling music industry bible ‘Music Powers’ — “Demontague’s voice is distinctive to the point that it matters”.

The singer recently returned to Jamaica after a series of successful shows in England and has now turned his attention to promoting his latest single – “Please Don’t Go.

Great Response To New Release

“Given the great response so far, we are pushing ahead with plans to shoot a music video next week. Blemo and The Clique believe in this song and they are going all out with the promotion,” he said.

Demontague first came on the Jamaican Reggae Scene a few years ago with the breakout single, ‘Missing You’ which hit number one on the Jamaica Music Countdown Top 25 Reggae Singles chart, and reached the peak of reggae charts in Canada, and UK. He followed up with singles like ‘Just the Two of Us’ and ‘Stick by Me’ featuring Cherine which also hit number one on the BBC 1 Xtra charts in the UK and it also did well in Canada, but he is not a newcomer to music.

New Phrase – Pop-Reggae

“I am going to release a new single where I have found the perfect way to blend Caribbean Pop with R&B. It’s a totally new sound that is going to blow people away,” he said. He recently performed on a couple of shows in Central Jamaica, where he wowed the audience with his great stage presence and powerful, clear vocals.

New Team

“I have a new team of producers and the promotional team to move to the next level,” he said. With a degree in economics from Kingston University in London, DeMontague could have pursued a different path, but his focus is on making it as a singer. “The day after I did my last exam, I headed straight for Jamaica.” He Said

Born in South London, he has been “back and forth” between England and Jamaica for years. The singing bug bit him at age six, and he was part of the youth choir at church. DeMontague says his musical style is basically giving “a touch of everything”. While he admits the music field can be competitive and hard to break into, DeMontague is convinced he has the right material, and sticks by the ethos of “creating good songs that people can relate to”.

“Reggae music is about peace, love and unity. It’s revolutionary. It’s about fighting the oppression of the system. That’s the kind of music I want to make, music that touch other people’s lives and uplift them. We all are oppressed by the system.”

“The day after I did my last exam, I headed straight for Jamaica,” DeMontague confessed, admitting that he pursued his degree just so he could have it, “but music is my real profession”.
