Today marks 20 years since the exodus of Paranoid from the music industry for reasons unknown. With his return, this milestone is starting to feel like a Birthday. “There’s a joy and pride in making it another year but also a slight feeling of, damn, we’re getting older. We’re no longer the new and fresh team on the scene… we’ve really been here for a minute. As we push closer to a decade I couldn’t be more proud of who we’ve become.” Paranoid said in a recent interview.

The Paranoid story is a very interesting one; after success in the 1990’s, he walked away from music and worked in various professions including construction. One day in winter he had a revelation in a portable toilet where he was seeking warmth. Paranoid explains “Well I was working construction in winter and it was very cold so cold that I had to seek some warmth in a Portable Toilet, a Porto John we call it. “
“I was sitting there and the toilet was so stink, I keep thinking to myself ‘what the hell am I doing here? this is not me, music is my love’ but then it hit me – the things we do to provide for our families – we go above and beyond. That’s how the song came about”
When you have responsibilities, you have to go above and beyond to fulfill those responsibilities, that is what this song is all about, it’s a tribute to all the hard working people who put in work everyday, rain or shine, snow or mud, ya man.
