Lavaska Re-Release Living Every Word – His Sophomore Album – With The Crichton Clique

Kingston, Jamaica. Lavaska’sLiving Every Word” album is next in line in his series of album re-records.

After much fan speculation, Lavaska ended his first night in his hometown by announcing the re-recorded of his beloved second studio album, “Living Every Word.” The singer and songwriter of 3 original studio albums shared that the album will be available everywhere on November 23.

The re-recording will feature 14 songs, including five never heard before tracks that. “I’ve sprung loose from the vault.” He told Asani Ali in a special interview.

Social Media Posts

After making the announcement, he posted to the YAMAN MUSIC social media accounts.”It fills me with such pride and joy to announce that my second studio album “Living Every Word” will be out November 23.” the singer wrote in a post.

“I first made the songs from ‘Living Every Word’ which by the way is completely self-written, between the ages of 19 and 27.” Lavaska continued. “The songs that came from this time in my life were marked by their brutal honesty, unfiltered diaristic confessions and wild wistfulness. I love this album because it tells a tale of growing up, flailing, flying and crashing… and living to speak about it. I had them in the vault and I think the timing is perfect.”

Why Is He Re-Recording His Albums?

Lavaska is is re-recording his albums so that he will own their masters – which means the original recordings. He made the decision to re-record his albums after his former record label sold his back catalogue, leaving him with no control over how the songs are used. By re-recording his albums, he will own the songs and therefore be able to give permission for their use – for example in advertisements or in films. In an interview with Asani Ali, she explained: “Every week, we get a dozen synch requests to use ‘Time’ in some advertisement or ‘She Cries’ in some movie trailer, and we say no to every single one of them. And the reason I’m rerecording my music next year is because I do want my music to live on. I do want it to be in movies, I do want it to be in commercials. But I only want that if I own it.”

Ready Food Talent

“I spent a great deal of my life writing those songs, they are my personal experience, they mean something to me so why should I let someone just take away my legacy like that? No, it’s not right. So, am re-recording my albums.” Lavaska also plans to re- release “Smoke In The Wind”, the first album he fully owns. Prior to this, the majority of Lavaska’s works were released under a deal he signed with Star Trail Records when he was 15, which gave the company ownership of his works. In 2007, Lavaska signed a new deal with Yaman Music that allows him to own his masters going forward. But, that didn’t apply to his old work. Lavaska might have been happy to never own his old masters, if it wasn’t for Star Trail selling the rights to a UK Publisher, giving them ownership of his previous work.

Connect With Lavaska

Can Lavaska Legally re-record his albums? Lavaska can legally re-record his albums because he writes his own songs, meaning he owns the publishing rights to them. This allows him to cover his own songs without having to do anything with the masters.

Which albums have Lavaska re-recorded so far? Lavaska has re-recorded “Smoke In The Wind” and “Living Every Word”, plus a number of singles previously released under the name “Little General.”

“Living Every Word” was Lavaska’s second studio album, leaving many fans wondering why it was the album he chose to re-release first, and not his debut, Smoke In The Wind. There have been several fan theories around this – with some believing the 8 years between the two is significant, because 8 is Lavaska’s favorite number. In an exclusive interview with Asani Ali, when asked about the number 8 he stated, “8 is Infinity, that’s the kind of music I write, music that lasts forever.”

I love this album because it tells my story and shows my growth process from the time I first got into music up to the present. It’s music everyone can relate to.

He continued, “”I always gravitated towards Living Every Word because I think that, as an album, it was a real coming-of-age. I look back on that album and it fills me with such pride, and it was an album about hope, and lessons learned, and the effervescence of teenage youth and all that. What more fun than to go back and explore that?”
