A collective vision of reggae guitarist Jason “Jahson” Murphey, and other reggae musicians and singers working together; With 25+ years performance and touring at the biggest festivals and venues; Rootstime production goal is to capture that live experience, authentic sound, energy, and unique live chemistry during the best performances; in the recording studio and share it with the world.
Built on Rasta roots reggae foundation, Rootstime production remains versatile and progressive.
Specializing in Roots, Reggae, Rock-Steady, Ska, Lovers Rock, Soul, R&B, World, Afro-beat, and Hip-hop: Composing, Arranging, and Full-scale Production; Mixing and Mastering included. (Soundtrack scoring, beats, re-mixes, Guitar production and session work also available.)
Coming from a wide range of musical influences and experience; from Traditional Roots & Culture, to Blues and Jazz, Hawaiian to Hi-Life, Afro-beat to Soul, Salsa, Rock and Reggae, Rootstime production draws on these influences and experiences to create a sound that is fresh and progressive, at the same time, honoring and keeping long held musical traditions, arrangements, rhythmic patterns, cultural tone, frequencies and harmonies.
